Amy Asherah has used writing as a way of healing for more than 30 years, and has written a memoir about her journey from trauma to healing. She studied Writing as a Therapeutic Modality at Lesley University, where she received an MFA in nonfiction writing. Her writing has been published in CALYX, Boulevard, and The New York Times. Amy incorporates her knowledge of herbal medicine, psychology, global literature, anatomy and physiology into Writing for Healing classes.
The film of her poem, “Eight,” directed by Roger Ingraham, won “Best Experimental Short” and “Programmer’s Selection” at the 2021 Faithfest Film Festival and was selected as a nominee in the 2022 Canadian International Faith and Family Film Festival. Learn more at AmyAsherah.com.
