Classes

Writing for Healing classes provide guidance and support to help you develop a healing practice of writing. All experience levels are welcome.

Drawing from the psychological insights of Judith HermanLouise DeSalvo, and Resmaa Menakem, we discuss the ways the body holds onto trauma and how expressing ourselves through writing can help us heal. Using prompts that access our memories and feelings, we write in class, and discuss poems and prose by authors from diverse perspectives and backgrounds.

Sharing your writing with the group is encouraged but not required.

Where do we meet?

Sherborn, MA

A beautiful meditation room at Unity Farm Sanctuary is the setting for our summer classes. In the light-filled room, you might hear a goat bleat or a goose cluck while you write.

Somerville, MA

Arts at the Armory, home to the Herbstalk Festival, provides a creative space for fall classes. Located on the 88 and 90 bus lines, and a 20 minute walk from Davis Square Red Line station.

Remote Classes

Through the WetInk platform, we offer On Demand Writing for Healing classes. Readings, instruction, and assignments allow you to develop your writing practice, in a weekly group or at your own pace. No zoom meetings.
